_{Bunbun smiled widely as her fellow classmates jumped for joy at the sound of the ringing school bell, but she was different. She enjoyed when everyone was gone because she had a secret that she wanted no one else to know, a secret friend that only liked her company.
She turned her back and reached into her backpack and pulled out a couple strawberries. They were red and plump, as ripe as they could be from the best part of the season. She rubbed them between her fingers, feeling their soft flesh bend at her will. She licked her lips but knew that her friend would want them more than she would.

“Cocoa!” she said softly, in a baby like voice.

There was a rattle and she smiled, she enjoyed making friends and she had many but this one was different. This friend never judged her for anything that she did wrong, it accepted her no matter what and she wished she could have all her friends act such a way towards her.

Bunbun got up off her desk, made sure everyone was outside the classroom and quickly ran to the door, closing it swiftly, turned the lock and faced back around. She made her way slowly towards the window and then crouched down to see a cage. She let a smile cross over her face once again as she unlocked the cage.

There was silence for a while, as if her friend was deciding if things were safe before venturing outside the safety of her enclosure.

Then there was a loud bang and a brown bunny came flying out of the cage and attacked Bunbun. She fell down to the floor as the bunny rubbed its soft furry face against hers. It sniffed all around her ears and neck making Bunbun giggle with content, the feeling of a rabbit’s nose against your body was almost a sense of purity.

“Here you go! Here!” she said in between laughter, she moved her body up and the bunny slid down in between her legs as she gave her the plump ripe strawberries.

The bunny devoured the fruit as if it was starving to death and as Bunbun looked over towards the bowl of food inside her cage it was still half full. She smiled, she knew Cocoa was content with any kind of fruit she gave her but lately it was the smell of strawberries that turned her into this crazy animal. She figured it was the texture of the strawberry the bunny liked as well as the hard seeds within the soft flesh of the fruit.

“You like that don’t you Cocoa?”

The bunny began to munch on the fruit quicker now, the fur around its mouth began to stain red and it allowed her to laugh loudly. She stroked the back of the bunny, feeling the soft fur within her fingertips. “How about you come home with me today huh? How do you feel about that?”

The bunny stopped eating for a second and looked up at her, it flopped its ears forward and sprung up against her chest again, allowing Bunbun to catch the bunny within her arms, cradling the animal soothingly.}
